Sustainability at the Heart of Learning
Constant learning and developing sustainability practices are important for IPS to encourage environmental responsibility and prepare students for global challenges. We focus on sustainability to create a healthier future and set a good example in promoting long-term care for the environment. Our goal is to empower students to become thoughtful, proactive stewards of the plane
Our goals
Building awareness
Our school launched a Sustainability Project to encourage students to care for the environment and develop into responsible global citizens. The project helps students understand how small, thoughtful actions can create a meaningful, positive impact on our planet.
Engaging community
Throughout the year, students participate in a broad range of activities including charity initiatives, waste reduction campaigns, and environmental awareness programs, all designed to help them understand sustainability not only in theory but also through meaningful real-life experiences.
Transforming habits
Sustainability focuses on reducing environmental impact through everyday actions like conserving energy, minimizing waste, and choosing eco-friendly options. By building consistent habits — such as recycling, using public transport, or supporting sustainable businesses — individuals contribute to a healthier planet.
Our Initiatives
School Year : 2025/2026
Eco Craft & Charity Initiative
During after-school sessions in October and November, students created eco-friendly Christmas products including crackers, ornaments, and glass bottle candle holders from recycled materials, raising approximately 3,600 PLN donated to support a young boy’s therapy, while fostering creativity, teamwork, and a sense of social responsibility.
Zero Waste Initiative
After discovering approximately 250 kg of food waste through an initial survey, the school launched a campaign running assembly awareness sessions, informative posters, and educating students on the environmental impact of landfills and methane emissions — encouraging students to adopt mindful, responsible habits around food consumption.
Garden Project Initiative
Through hands-on gardening experiences, students engage in the full cycle of plant growth from seed germination at our in-school station to transplanting seedlings into the school garden. Led by the Eco Team across Grades 1–5, this initiative builds responsibility, environmental awareness, and a meaningful connection with nature.
Planet-Friendly Space
IPS campuses strive to be planet-friendly spaces that promote sustainability and environmental responsibility in every aspect of campus life, and we are constantly learning together how to make this vision a reality.
Our secondary campus is located in Centrum Południe — one of Wrocław’s most sustainable and health-conscious buildings. Powered entirely by renewable energy and designed for clean air, water efficiency, and well-being, it reflects our values of responsibility and innovation. This modern, green environment supports our mission to educate future-ready students in a space that cares for people and the planet. From waste reduction initiatives to eco-conscious classroom practices, students are actively involved in creating a more sustainable future. We believe that everyday choices—like what we use, how we move, and how we care for our surroundings—shape a better world for all.
