Primary & Lower Secondary

To provide holistic education that empowers students to achieve excellence

International  Primary School offers high quality education through a holistic approach focussed on addressing every pupil’s individual strengths and needs. It covers grades 1 through 8 of elementary school.

We integrate the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework with the Cambridge International Education curriculum, two globally recognized programmes to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded learning experience. This combination ensures that students receive a global education that fosters inquiry, agency, and a strong sense of community, while meeting internationally recognized and rigorous academic standards.

IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)

The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is for students aged 3 to 12, focusing on developing the whole child as an inquirer. It uses six global themes and integrates knowledge from six subject areas with transdisciplinary skills. The PYP emphasizes inquiry, agency, and self-reliance, empowering students to take control of their learning and build a strong sense of identity and community. At IPS Primary, students showcase these values in an annual IPS PYP Exhibition at the end of grade 5 demonstrating these goals and values within a tangible framework of a final project. The Exhibition encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving. It also celebrates each student’s growth as a confident, reflective, and active learner.

The Cambridge Primary curriculum provides a broad and balanced education for children aged 5 to 11 in grades 1 through 5. It focuses on developing essential skills in subjects like English, Math and Science, while promoting critical thinking and creativity. The curriculum encourages active learning, helping students build a strong foundation for future academic success. It is internationally recognized and designed to be flexible, allowing teachers to adapt content to the needs and interests of their students.Through regular assessments and personalized feedback, learners are supported in reaching their full potential with confidence and curiosity.

Lessons are thoughtfully designed to be inclusive and engaging in meaningful cultural exploration.Students gain insight into national traditions, historical milestones, and regional diversity through hands-on projects and real-world connections. We celebrate Polish holidays and commemorate important national events as part of the school experience. This approach fosters mutual respect, identity awareness, and a sense of belonging in our diverse community.

National and international exams as precise and high-standard diagnostic tool

Cambridge Checkpoint Exams

Cambridge Checkpoints is an international assessment designed for students at the end of the Lower Secondary stage. It evaluates students’ knowledge and skills in three key subjects – English, Mathematics and Science – and provides valuable feedback on the academic progress of individual students, learning cohorts and the whole grade level. The results offer a clear indication of readiness for the next stage of their education, areas of further study as well as their areas of excellence.

Egzamin Ósmoklasisty (8th-grade exam)
